I'm Bárbara and I'm from a village called Atouguia da Baleia, which is near Peniche, in the west of Portugal.

For as long as I can remember, I have always had two passions, design and helping others. I am a gerontologist (specialist in the field of aging), an area that I love and in which I have worked for the last seven years as Technical Director in nursing homes and day centers for the elderly, however I felt that I was missing something, design. That was the reason that led me to specialize in UX/UI Design, the area where I hope to combine both of my passions by helping to elevate the user experience.

In Portugal, we have an expression that says "pôr as mãos na massa", which means getting to work, being active and doing our best. This is how I see my way of working. I enjoy working in a team, thinking about solutions to problems, communicating with different people and constantly learning to improve as a person and professional.

I'm fascinated by nature, traveling, food, photography, makeup, films, and animals, especially my cat Crystal, of course. I couldn't live without music or sport.
